QEC4QEA Training Attracts International Audience: A Guided Hike into Quantum Machine Learning
The Quantum Machine Learning (QML) Training, organised by the Maison de la Simulation with funding provided by the QEC4QEA project, was successfully held on 8–9 July 2025 at the Paris-Saclay campus. The event attracted 50 participants (onsite and remote), primarily from French academia and industry, as well as participants from across Europe, India, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Led by Yann Beaujeault-Taudière, the two-day training provided an in-depth introduction to key concepts in Quantum Machine Learning, including: • Quantum Neural Networks (QNNs) and their applications, • Quantum Kernel Methods for machine learning, • Quantum data encoding techniques for preparing classical data for quantum algorithms.
Each theoretical module was complemented by hands-on practical sessions, giving participants the opportunity to implement the concepts presented and gain practical experience with quantum machine learning workflows.
The event highlighted the growing demand for advanced quantum training across both academia and industry. The training was very well received by participants. In particular, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers highlighted the relevance of the content to their research and expressed strong interest in similar future events for research groups beginning to work with quantum computing in areas such as many-body physics, chemistry, and materials science.
